Shade Coverage, Business-grade Internet, and Power Everywhere

We've designed the rooftop to support productive work with easy access to power, business-grade internet, and shade across the rooftop. There's nothing more annoying than running out of power, waiting for files to load, or trying to see your laptop over all the glare.

We've taken care of the 3 most important things about working outside: power, internet, and shade.

There are additionally some uncovered areas for those who want some extra vitamin D but the main workspace area are covered by shade canvas to remove screen glare and keep you cool.

During the winter, heat lamps will help keep the cold at bay so you can enjoy the brisk cool air while you work.

On top of that you are welcome to bring your dog so they can enjoy the benefits of being outside too!

Come Work Outside!

Benefits of Working Outside

Be More Creative

A Stanford University study found that people who walked outside for 15 minutes came up with 3x more ideas than people who sat indoors. Ideas are the most valuable currency today. Information is everywhere and easily found thanks to the internet. Creative ways to apply the information is how we'll drive progress going forward.

The experience from your indoor desk rarely changes. There's little room for serendipitous combining of ideas when everything is always the same. Let the outdoors help you see and think in a way that only being outside can.

Be Happier

92% of people feel happier outdoors according to a survey conducted by L.L. Bean. That should be no surprise given how our environment can affect how we think and act. Fast food restaurants have long known to use specific colors in their decor to reduce how long guests stay to eat their food. A cozy, romantic sit-down restaurant will do the opposite to keep you dining longer so you'll have more drinks and hopefully end the night with dessert.

Sunlight naturally makes us feel better yet we spend 95% of our work time indoors. Perhaps it is time to flip that. Colorado is one of the few places where we can comfortably work outside the majority of the year and enjoy the benefits of the sun.

Be Healthier

Sitting at your desk all day is not good for many reasons yet our climate and environment controlled offices make it the path of least resistance. Ergonomic chairs and predictable lighting is nice but it also incentivizes sitting in place all day.

Shadows and shade will subtly change as the sun moves throughout the day which will give us reason to adjust ourselves. This way we can alternate work while sitting, standing, lounging, or maybe even taking a break.

Designed for Productive Work

Work @ Metlo Rooftop is designed for productive work with all the benefits of a coworking space and of being outside. It is a private space filled with other people looking to get work done. Coffee shops with a patio or public parks are decent places to work outside but they don't have business-grade internet, easy access to power, or sufficient shade. And the biggest drawback is that not everyone's interests are aligned.

Everyone at a coworking space is serious about work and getting work done.

Our space limits access solely to our members and is perched 4 stories high away from the general public with goals and interests of their own.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the hours of operation?

We will be open from 9am until 4pm Mondays through Fridays, weather permitting.

Is the workspace ADA accessible?

Unfortunately we are not ADA accessible. There is elevator access up to our lounge and meeting rooms but a flight of stairs is required to access the rooftop workspace area.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are welcome as long as they remain leashed and under your supervision. We reserve the right to disallow aggressive pets that pose a risk to other members.

Is there parking?

We do not have a dedicated parking lot but there is street parking and a public parking lot right next door to the west on Acoma St and W 12th Ave. Members of Work @ Metlo Rooftop may not park in the Metlo building parking lot.

Do I have to sign an agreement?

Free coworking requires a no-cost membership with a valid email address or LinkedIn account and agreement to our terms of service for use.

What happens when the weather gets bad?

Fortunately bad weather is a fairly rare and short-lived occurrence in Colorado. We will remain open unless a severe storm requires us to close for the entire day.

Cover from summer showers or intermittent precipitation can be had under the bar area or in our lounge area.

We will provide heat lamps during the cooler winter months to maintain a pleasant outdoor working experience.
